More and more people are getting sick recently. Therefore, I wanted to share a few easy tips on how to maintain a strong immune system.
My preference is sticking to natural remedies that can be easily found and made at home.
Healthy diet takes precedence! Try to reduce carbohydrate intake to the best of your ability. Carbs feed pathogens and also increase inflammation. Instead, make sure to have the following foods at home at all times:
Bone broth - preferably home cooked and made from organic, grass fed cow bones. Best to drink it in the morning and on an empty stomach. This will coat and prepare your gut for digestion, provide hydration and protein. This can help with blood sugar regulation and carb cravings.
Fermented foods - for example sauerkraut, kombucha, and pickled vegetables. These will ensure a healthy microbiome
Cook with garlic, ginger and turmeric. These have natural antiviral and anti inflammatory properties.
Home made elderberry syrup. Elderberries naturally are high in Vitamin C.
If you are too busy to make them yourself, I also have a list of vitamins and supplements that I always keep at home.
Vitamin D - ensure your blood level is above 50 nmol/L. Levels below 50 are not optimal for overall and bone health.
Zinc- it supports normal functioning and growth of immune cells
Vitamin C - has many formulations. Fat soluble is easily absorbed. There is also sodium ascorbate which is a non-acidic form of Vit C.
I have recently discovered this Superfood Honey. It is a combination of raw, enzymatic honey infused with royal jelly, bee pollen and propolis. This product is amazing in helping you maintain a healthy immune system. You can purchase it using the full script link below.
